My Life as of now...

Well my husband came home last month! He was home for a month and then I sadly had to take him back to the airport but, he left a little gift behind! IM PREGNANT!!! I had mixed feelings about it, I wanted so badly to be excited... and I am..... but, I didn't want to let the girls at Derby down. Only one of the girls know... I consider her my "big". When I joined FCDG 7 months ago, she took me under her wing... and I was her "little". We have our first bout in a week and a half... I plan on telling the girls shortly after that. I still attend practice... and I am still active with derby, now I know what you are thinking.... "What the hell?" right? Well I am only a couple of weeks along. 3 at the most. Most people don't find out until about 7-8 weeks. Not that it justifies it. I am confidant that nothing is going to happen to the little thing the size of this period ( . )<---- I am pretty thick... My fatty cells are pretty protective. I am going to bout, and then take it easy. I will still attend practice regularly and pay my dues. I will be on skates until I obviously shouldn't be... but, I will not participate in the pack drills and hitting drills. I will mostly be in the center and yell and scream at my girls and pump them up! We have 7 bouts and scrimmages scheduled this season. They are all against other leagues in the surrounding states. I will be at every single one of them..... but, not in participation :( Well on another note, my husband and I went to Utah and Arizona when he came home! It was a blast! I got to see my mega bestie, Laura! I also got to spend time with my family and was able to participate in a Salt City Derby Girls practice! That was a learning experiance! I have to admit, I totally sucked balls at practice! My knees were shaking for the 2 hours of practice! My nerves were so shot from practicing with a large and established team! I was placed with a team for the scrimmages on the second half of practice and I must say..... It is wierd and disorienting to play on a team and look out for faces of people you have never seen.... You are looking for your jammer but, shit, which one is on my team? You are looking for the opposing jammer but, shit, do I hit her? Because, if I do and she happens to BE on my team then I have some pissed off girls!! I know they all wore t-shirts that matched..... but, when you are in the middle of it you don't see that part. Now, if I would have had MY girls with me, I would have performed better, because I know WHICH FACES don't belong on my team! Anyhow, they were all kind and welcoming and I learned quite a bit from them! I admire thier comraderie. I definately had something that I can take back to my own team, besides the bruises.
